Roma have joined the chase for Barcelona and Juventus target and Fluminense starlet Gerson, according to Catalan daily Sport.

Barcelona have paid a sum of €​3.2m to Fluminense in order to have a preferential right for the purchase of the midfielder.




And the Catalans were recently reported to have accelerated negotiations with the Brazilian outfit to close the deal.

Reigning Italian champions and 2015 Champions League finalists Juventus have also been heavily linked with the youngster.
 


And now the Old Lady’s Serie A rivals Roma have joined the chase for the highly-regarded youngster as they bid to entice him away to the Stadio Olimpico.

Rudi Garcia’s side have been reported to have put an offer of €​16m for the youngster and Barcelona have until this weekend to match the offer of the Italian outfit, it has been claimed.

Gerson has come through the ranks of the Fluminense youth academy and has gone on to make a total of 14 first team appearances for Flu, scoring three goals in the process.

Barcelona also enjoy a good relationship with Gerson's father, which could play a role in the youngster's eventual transfer destination.
