Manchester City have been warned by Roma that they are not going to offer more than €20m for striker Edin Dzeko.

Roma have been trying to agree a fee with Manchester City for the Bosnian forward for months, but have so far failed in their efforts.

While they have thrashed out personal terms with the player, Roma are still waiting to reach an agreement with Manchester City, who initially demanded €30m for the Bosnia international.

According to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma have passed on a clear message to Manchester City that they are not going to offer more than €20m plus bonuses for the striker.

While Manchester City have softened their stance and are willing to lower their demands for the forward, it remains to be seen whether they agree to Roma’s terms for Dzeko’s sale.

The forward has reportedly told the club that he wants to leave and Manuel Pellegrini is also unsure about the future of the Bosnian at the Etihad.

Roma are expected to continue their negotiations with Manchester City for Dzeko over the next few days, but have set a clear budget for the deal.

The 29-year-old forward has scored 72 goals since joining the club in 2011 from Wolfsburg and still has three years left on his contract with the Citizens.
