Tottenham Hotspur new boy Kieran Trippier is relishing the prospect of facing Manchester United on the first day of the 2015/16 Premier League campaign.

Trippier has landed from Burnley, who were relegated to the Championship after a solitary season in the English top flight, and will be eager to impress in his first season at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham have been handed a tough outing on the opening day of their league campaign as they visit Louis van Gaal’s title contenders Manchester United at Old Trafford.

However, Trippier is unperturbed by the tough assignment, saying that Spurs love to play in tough fixtures.

“We always want to play teams like that week in, week out”, he told his club’s site.

He further added that the Red Devils will no doubt pose a tough challenge, but Spurs are determined to start their season on a winning note.

“I know it will be another big test for us, but we’ll go there and try to win the game.”

Mauricio Pochettino’s side finished fifth in the league standings last term and having added Kevin Wimmer, Toby Alderweireld apart from Trippier to their ranks, they will be eager to challenge for a spot in the top four.
