Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Javier Pastore admits he has spoken to international team-mate Angel di Maria about joining the club and was probed extensively on life at the Parc des Princes by the Manchester United winger at the Copa America.

The French champions have agreed a fee with Manchester United for Di Maria, while the player himself is expected to soon undergo a medical and put pen to paper on a four-year contract at the Parc des Princes.

PSG chased Di Maria last summer, but saw their efforts to sign him from Real Madrid scuppered by UEFA's financial fair play rules, allowing Manchester United to do a deal.

Now free of UEFA's restrictions, PSG are set to sign their man a year later. And Pastore admits that Di Maria was full of questions about PSG at the recent Copa America, when the pair were together in the Argentina squad.

Pastore told Le Parisien: "Yes [I talked to him at the Copa America] very often [smiles].

"He also asked many questions about the club, the city, what life would be like for his family.

"He wants to come.

"He is a very great player. The plus is that he can win big games on his own."

Manchester United paid a British transfer record fee of €75m to sign Di Maria from Real Madrid, but the number 7 endured a lacklustre debut season in English football and now appears set to continue his career in France with the Ligue 1 champions.
