New Leeds United signing Chris Wood has been left buzzing by his first outing at Elland Road as a Whites player.

Wood, who Leeds snapped up from Leicester City earlier this summer and have handed the number 9 shirt, scored today at Elland Road as the Whites ran out 2-0 winners over Premier League side Everton in their final friendly before the start of the new Championship season.

Wood scored in the 80th minute of the match, hitting a long-range shot which took a deflection and looped over the Everton goalkeeper.

And the New Zeland international was delighted with how his afternoon went and the atmosphere generated.

"Great end to pre season! Elland Road was bouncing today", he wrote on Twitter.

"Quality atmosphere.

"Really looking forward to it all kicking off next week."

Wood will be hoping to spearhead Leeds' attack next weekend when Burnley visit Elland Road on the opening weekend of the new Championship season.

The Clarets are sure to provide stiff opposition for the Whites, having been plying their trade in the Premier League last season.
