Fiorentina are not convinced about signing Mario Balotelli from Liverpool this summer.

It is looking increasingly unlikely that Balotelli wil feature in Brendan Rodgers’ plans for next season as the Liverpool boss has remained consistent with his non-selection of the Italian in his pre-season squads.

The 24-year-old has been increasingly marginalised at Anfield and through Rodgers’ actions the club appear to have signalled that the forward is welcome to leave Merseyside this summer.

A number of Italian clubs have been interested in signing the player, but the transfer fee coupled with his high wage demands have scared most of his suitors off his trail.

There is speculation that Fiorentina might also be interested in taking the player back to Italy and could make a move for him this summer.

However, according to Italian daily La Nazione, the club are not convinced at the prospect of signing the Liverpool forward and could finally ditch the idea of taking a chance on him.

It has been claimed that the issue has even split the Fiorentina fan base as many are opposed to the prospect of seeing Balotelli at La Viola next season.

Liverpool are ready to offload the striker, but are finding it increasingly hard to find a buyer for the mercurial Italian.
