Leeds United head coach Uwe Rosler insists that the Whites have not received any approach for defender Sam Byram, who has been linked with a number of clubs, as he attempts to fight the transfer fires burning around the starlet.

Byram has been linked with Arsene Wenger's Arsenal, Brendan Rodgers' Liverpool and Roberto Martinez's Everton in recent weeks and has been tipped to play Premier League football sooner rather than later.

But as speculation swirls around Byram and a potential bid for the right-back-cum-right-midfielder, Rosler insists that Leeds have not fielded any interest.

However, the German head coach admits he cannot guarantee that Byram will not be sold before the transfer window slams shut, conceding that in football every player has their price.

"We've had no written offer, no approach", Rosler was quoted as saying by BBC Radio Leeds.

"I think in the best interest of the boy just give him a break and let him concentrate on football.

"When things happen then things happen."

Rosler though, when challenged to rule out selling Byram in order to kill transfer speculation, said: "In football, and I don't want to open up speculation by saying what I say, but you never can say categorically.

"Be honest, every player has his price.

"But we are not looking to sell him.

"We are looking to build the future with our young players and he is a big important part.

"An important part of my way of playing and the idea of the football club going forward."

Byram is a product of Leeds' esteemed youth set-up and is considered one of the club's gems, along with fellow midfielders Lewis Cook and Alex Mowatt.

It remains to be seen whether the Whites would reject a substantial offer for Byram however.
