Roma have become the latest club to reject an offer to sign Mario Balotelli from Liverpool this summer.

Balotelli's Liverpool spell has now turned into a nightmare and the former Inter striker is well down the pecking order at Anfield. He was even left out of Liverpool's pre-season tour to Asia and Australia by manager Brendan Rodgers.

The Italian's agent Mino Raiola is working overtime in an effort to find his client a new home, but finding takers is proving increasingly difficult.

Both Bologna and Sampdoria, who have expressed an interest, have concluded they cannot afford Balotelli, while others such as Fiorentina have ruled themselves out of signing him.

According to Sky Italia, Raiola recently proposed Balotelli to Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini.

But the Giallorossi have no interest in signing the striker, another sign of how low Balotelli's stock has fallen over the last 12 months.

Rodgers splashed out €20m to sign Balotelli from AC Milan last summer, taking a gamble on being able to succeed where other managers have failed in bringing the best out of the striker.

The Liverpool manager though appears to have deemed his experiment a failure and Balotelli faces an uphill battle if he does want to win a spot in the Reds side.
