Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who fired Arsenal to a 1-0 victory in the Community Shield against Chelsea today, says the Gunners were desperate to continue their winning streak at Wembley.

Arsenal took control of the match from the start and instantly looked more at home at Wembley, troubling Chelsea, who struggled to look dangerous.

And the Gunners took the lead in the 24th minute after good work from Theo Walcott allowed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain the chance to make space for himself and fire a shot past Thibaut Courtois in the Chelsea goal.

The Blues did not register a shot on target in the first half and duly brought Radamel Falcao on at half time.

Chelsea had chances, while Arsenal also had opportunities, but no further goals arrived and the Gunners grabbed the Community Shield.
