Barcelona starlet Adama Traore is awaiting a phone call from his agent to leave for a medical with Liverpool, according to Catalan daily Sport.

Traore has been eyed by Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool as they bid to strengthen their squad and improve upon last season’s sixth placed league finish in the coming campaign.

The Reds sent representatives to Barcelona last week in a bid to negotiate a deal for the youngster and they appear on the verge of getting their target.

The 19-year-old winger has been linked with several European heavyweights including Manchester United, Manchester City, Everton, Bayern Munich and Sevilla amongst others this season, but Rodgers’ side have emerged as the leading candidates to land the highly-touted youngster.

The winger is awaiting confirmation from his agent and could soon be in Liverpool for a medical before he joins the Reds, it has been claimed.
