Former Rangers defender Bilel Mohsni has moved to French club Angers on a two-year deal.

Mohsni joins Swiss striker Goran Karanovic as the new arrivals at the newly promoted Ligue 1 outfit.




The 28-year-old, who joined the Gers after a trial in the summer of 2013, had a controversy-laden two seasons with the Glasgow giants, where he received suspensions for a total of 12 matches due to various on-field altercations.

The Tunisian left Rangers this summer after receiving a seven game suspension for getting involved in a scuffle in the Light Blues’ playoff final defeat to Motherwell at the end of last season.
 


Mohsni played 24 times for Rangers in 2014/15 and scored one goal. In his two-year spell in Glasgow, he received a total of 17 yellow cards and three red cards.

He won the Scottish League One title with the Gers in 2013/14, his first season with the Ibrox club.

He is a Tunisian international and has appeared three times for his national team since making his debut last year against South Korea.

Angers finished third in Ligue 2 last season which sealed their promotion into the top division after a 21 year gap.

The signing of Mohsni will be a boost for their survival hopes in Ligue 1 next season.
