French giants Lyon are poised to confirm the signing of Rafael from Manchester United later today after the Brazilian flew into France yesterday as planned.

Rafael is poised to thrash out the final details of his move today and then put pen to paper on a four-year contract with Les Gones.

According to French sports daily L'Equipe, Lyon will pay Manchester United a fee of between €2.5m and €3m for the 25-year-old, who only had a single year to run on his contract at Old Trafford.

Rafael meanwhile will earn around €2.5m gross per year at the Stade Gerland.

The Brazilian's spot with Manchester United was placed under the microscope earlier this summer when the Red Devils snapped up Italy international right-back Matteo Darmian from Torino.
