Pep Guardiola has backed his former charge Pedro Rodriguez as being good enough to play for any side in world football.

Pedro is fretting about a lack of regular game time at Barcelona and has been strongly linked with moving to Manchester United as he aims to clock up the minutes ahead of next summer's European Championship in France.




Guardiola coached the forward at the Camp Nou and is full of praise for his abilities, backing Pedro to make the grade wherever he wants to play.

Speaking at an Audi Cup press conference, Guardiola was asked about Pedro and his likely exit from Barcelona.
 

 

He replied: "Pedro has lots of talent. He is a world and a European champion with Spain and he won it all with Barcelona.

"He played lots of games for Barca and he is good enough to play for any team he wants to", the Spaniard added.

With Angel di Maria on the brink of signing for Paris Saint-Germain, Pedro has been tipped to up sticks for Old Trafford to replace the Argentine at Manchester United.

Pedro struggled when competing with a front three of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez at the Camp Nou last term.
