Roma are negotiating with Liverpool target and Paris Saint-Germain defender Lucas Digne, according to Sky Italia.

Digne has been at the Parc des Princes since the summer of 2013 when he arrived from northern France outfit Lille.

However, he has struggled for first team action at the reigning French champions. In his two seasons with the French capital outfit, he has gone on to make 29 league starts.

The Giallorossi are eager to prise the youngster away to the Stadio Olimpico on a loan deal. Rudi Garcia’s side have received positive signs and are reported to be close to getting their target.

Digne has also been linked with a move to the Premier League with Liverpool, but the Reds have yet to close a deal for the Frenchman.

The possible signing of the defender would allow Roma to strengthen their left side of defence as Ashley Cole failed to make his mark following his move from Chelsea last summer.

In all, the 22-year-old has made 44 appearances for the Parisians, assisting five goals in the process.

He has also been capped eight times by the France national team.
