Rafael has thanked Manchester United fans for their support after completing a move to French Ligue 1 side Lyon.

The Brazilian right-back has cost the French outfit a fee of around €3m to sign from Manchester United and has put pen to paper on a four-year contract at the Stade Gerland.




Rafael signed for Manchester United in 2007 from Brazilian outfit Fluminense and went on to make 170 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils.

And he has thanked the club and their supporters for a lengthy association.
 

 

He wrote on Twitter: "I want to thank Manchester United fans for all the love during those 8 years."

Rafael links up with a side that finished second in Ligue 1 last term and as a result will play in the Champions League in the forthcoming campaign.

The defender picked up three Premier League titles, one League Cup, three Community Shields and one FIFA World Cup during his time at Old Trafford.
