West Ham have set up a meeting with the agent of Inter defender Danilo D'Ambrosio as they intensify their efforts to sign the 26-year-old.

Bundesliga outfit Schalke have been making all the running for D'Ambrosio, but Inter remain to be convinced about selling the full-back.

But Schalke and West Ham are continuing their efforts and the Hammers are hoping to give their chase a push by meeting with the player's agent.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, D'Ambrosio's agent will be in London tomorrow afternoon for a meeting with the Hammers over his client.

West Ham would like to welcome D'Ambrosio to Upton Park, but Schalke remain serious competitors for the Italian's signature.
