Manchester United reserve goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard will leave the club following clear-the-air-talks with Louis van Gaal.

The Dane joined Manchester United from Aalesunds FK in 2011, but has struggled to establish himself as the club’s first choice between the sticks.

The 31-year-old didn’t play a single minute of senior football last season and only clocked up three first team apperances during the previous campaign.

Lindegaard did travel with the Manchester United squad for their pre-season tour, but is claimed to be on his way out of Old Trafford this summer.

According to Danish daily Ekstra Bladet, Lindegaard held talks with Van Gaal in the US over his future and from their meeting it has emerged that the Dane is free to look for a new club.

Manchester United have already signed Sergio Romero and are expected to sign another goalkeeper if David de Gea leaves and therefore Lindegaard has very little hope of first team football next season too.

Lindegaard has made just 29 first team appearances for Manchester United since joining the club in January 2011 and could have played his last game for them against Club America during their pre-season tour.

The 31-year-old has a year left on his contract with the Red Devils.
