Antalyaspor are interested in signing Aston Villa centre-half Philippe Senderos this summer.

Villa signed the former Arsenal defender on a free transfer from Valencia last summer, but a calf injury in September curtailed his season and he made just eight Premier League appearances for the Midlands club.

Tim Sherwood is believed to be keen to offload the 30-year-old defender and Aston Villa may have found a willing buyer in Turkey.

Antalyaspor are keen to take Senderos to Turkey this summer and according to Sky Italia, they are in negotiations with Aston Villa for the signature of the Swiss defender.

The ambitious Turkish outfit have already signed Samuel Eto’o this summer and are ready to sign another proven performer in the form of Senderos to declare their ambitions for the new season.

While no deal has still been agreed, both clubs are keen to conclude the negotiations soon to resolve the 30-year-old defender’s future.

Senderos has already played in England, Italy and Spain and could be on his way to Turkey in the next chapter of his football journey.

The defender has played for clubs such as Arsenal, AC Milan, Everton and Valencia and has also earned 55 international caps for Switzerland.

He still has a year left on his contract with Aston Villa.
