Former Celtic forward Georgios Samaras will undergo a medical today before completing his move to Sampdoria this summer.

Sampdoria have been in talks with the Greek international’s representatives over the last few days and were competing with New York Cosmos for his signature.




However, the Serie A side seem to have won the battle against the MLS outfit and the forward is claimed to be on his way to the Genoa-based club this summer.

According to Sky Italia, Samaras is expected to arrive in Rome today to undergo a medical before completing a move to Sampdoria.
 


The Serie A outfit are keen conduct a thorough medical of the former Celtic man before offering him the chance to join the club this summer.

Samaras is claimed to have agreed personal terms with Sampdoria over a contract worth €750,000 per season.

The forward left Celtic for West Brom last summer, but following an unimpressive display, he was loaned out to Al Hilal in February.

The Baggies finally released him from his contract earlier this summer and the Greek international is now on his way to Italy.

Samaras has earned 81 caps for Greece and has nine international goals to his name.
