Barcelona boss Luis Enrique admits that Manchester United target Pedro Rodriguez is the one who has to make a decision on his future.

The 28-year-old forward has been widely tipped to be on his way out of the Camp Nou this summer, with Manchester United touted to be his next destination.




The Red Devils officially opened negotiations with Barcelona yesterday and are reportedly close to agreeing a fee for the Spain international.

Pedro has already agreed personal terms with Manchester United and is believed to be just waiting for the clubs to reach an agreement before he takes his flight to England.
 


Enrique is desperate to keep hold of the player, but admits that the Spaniard is in control of his own destiny.

When asked about Pedro and his impending departure from Barcelona, Enrique was quoted as saying by AS: "Pedro is a top player and I hope that he stays but it will be his decision.”

The 28-year-old wants to play more first team football next season, in order to make it to the Spain squad for next summer’s European Championship.

Louis van Gaal is said to have promised him an important role, as well as regular football at Manchester United.
