Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke believes that Jurgen Klopp would be perfect for Bayern Munich, amid continuing speculation that Pep Guardiola will not extend his stay at the Allianz Arena beyond the expiry of his contract next summer.

Klopp ended his lengthy association with Dortmund at the end of last season following a disappointing campaign in the Bundesliga and has been replaced by Thomas Tuchel in the hot seat.

The now former Dortmund coach has been tipped as a contender to succeed Guardiola at the Allianz Arena next summer and Watzke has talked up his qualifications for the post.

"For every top club Jurgen Klopp is a candidate", Watzke told the Rheinische Post.

"Klopp and Bayern would go well together, 100 per cent", he added.

However, Watzke has words of warning for Klopp if he is thinking about taking over at Bayern Munich, saying that little mistakes are not tolerated by the Bavarians.

Nevertheless, if Klopp did take charge of Dortmund's domestic rivals, Watzke insists his friendship with the coach would not suffer.

"At Bayern you cannot do much wrong. They will become champions anyway.

"Our friendship would not suffer as a result."

Klopp interrupted Bayern Munich's dominance of German football for a time at Dortmund, leading the Ruhr giants to two Bundesliga titles.
