Liverpool youngster Lawrence Vigouroux has expressed his hope that he will be able to cash in on the opportunity to play "real" football at Swindon Town.

The 21-year-old shot-stopper has joined the League One side on a year-long loan deal after enjoying a season of Under-21 football at Anfield.

Vigouroux joined Liverpool from Tottenham's academy in July 2014 and has since been with the Premier League giants, featuring heavily for Michael Beale's side in the Under-21 Premier League.

As far as his move to the County Ground is concerned, the youngster feels that the switch suits him best as it will give him the chance to enjoy regular football.

The opportunity also comes at the right time, the goalkeeper feels, after he enjoyed a fruitful season with the Liverpool second string side.

The move will further allow the goalkeeper to join fellow academy team-mates Jordan Williams and Kevin Stewart, both of whom are currently on loan at Swindon Town.

"Swindon's a great club", Vigouroux told the League One side's official website.

"It's a good place for me to play football because they like to play football.

"I know quite a few of the lads – they remembered me from Spurs and I've also got Jordan Williams and Kevin Stewart here – Kev keeps saying I'm following him around everywhere but that's football.

"I've just got to get my head down and try and impress everyone.

"I thought I did well last season and hopefully I'll kick on again this season at Swindon.

"I need some games out in the real world – that's what I need to do and I'm happy to do it."
