Paris Saint-Germain have made initial contact with Napoli for Arsenal linked full-back Faouzi Ghoulam.

Ghoulam joined Napoli in January last year and has been one of the most consistent performers for the club over his one-and-a-half-season stay at the San Paolo so far.

His performances attracted the attention of some top clubs across Europe and Arsenal reportedly made a bid for him to take the Algerian to England this summer.

However, the Gunners are set to face stiff competition for his signature as PSG have entered the chase and are claimed to have made a move for the Algerian international.

According to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, the French champions have initiated contact with Napoli and are in talks with the Italians to take Ghoulam to the French capital this summer.
