Fiorentina are expected to meet Liverpool later tonight in London to discuss a potential deal for Fabio Borini.

Both Borini and Liverpool are desperate to part ways this summer, but despite interest from Italy, the striker is still struggling to engineer a move away from Anfield.

A number of Italian clubs have shown an interest in the wantaway striker, but they are yet to place a concrete offer on Liverpool’s table for the former Roma man.

Fiorentina emerged as another one of Borini’s potential suitors earlier this week, but this time around the club seem to be serious about taking the forward back to Italy this summer.

Fiorentina officials are in London to finalise a deal for Chelsea’s Mohamed Salah and according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, they will also meet their Liverpool counterparts tonight to discuss a potential transfer for 24-year-old forward.

Borini rejected offers to leave Liverpool last summer, but found himself on the fringes of Brendan Rodgers’ squad throughout the 2014/15 campaign.

The Reds have signed a number of forwards in the summer transfer window, which has made the Italian surplus to requirements at Anfield.

Borini still has two years left on his contract with Liverpool.
