Tottenham Hotspur starlet Dele Alli is delighted with his performance in his first start for the Lilywhites in their friendly encounter against Real Madrid yesterday.

Alli earned plaudits for his showing in the pre-season clash against the Spanish giants held at Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena, although Spurs finished on the losing side after James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale scored a goal each to seal the match 2-0 in favour of the Spaniards.

The 19-year-old, who signed from MK Dons in the last winter transfer window and was subsequently loaned out to the then League One side, is delighted with the way his first start for the Spurs turned out.

"It was a phenomenal feeling for me”, he told his club’s site.

He expressed his disappointment with the result of the match, however, he hopes that he has done enough to find a place in the Spurs starting eleven when they kick-off their league campaign against Manchester United on 8th August at Old Trafford.
