Juventus linked defender Medhi Benatia has insisted that he is happy at Bayern Munich and is keen to ignore the rumours surrounding his future.

The 28-year-old defender joined the Bavarians from Roma in a big money move last summer but injuries and form didn’t allow him to secure a starting spot in Pep Guardiola’s team last season.

There has been speculation that the defender could be on his way out of Bayern Munich and a move back to Italy has been mooted, with Juventus believed to be his primary suitors.

While the defender feels that there are little guarantees in football these days, he stressed that he is happy at Bayern Munich and is keen to ignore the speculation surrounding his future.

"I am happy here at Bayern but in football you never know”, Benatia told Sky Italia.

“I do not get Involved with transfer stories, I still have four years on my contract here."

When asked about a speculated move to Juventus this summer, the Moroccan said: “I really do not know, I am just concentrating on playing well, the transfer market does not interest me.

“I do like Italy very much however."

Benatia made just 24 appearances in all competitions last season, but a start in the German Super Cup final against Wolfsburg last Saturday suggested that the defender could assume an important role in Guardiola’s team for the upcoming campaign.

He is also the captain of the Moroccan national team and has earned 31 international caps for his country.
