This coming Sunday could mark Nicolas Gaitan's final game for Benfica, according to Portuguese sports daily Record, as clubs continue to sniff around the Argentine.

Benfica lock horns with fierce rivals Sporting Lisbon this Sunday in the Portuguese Super Cup and Gaitan is expected to turn out in a red shirt.

President Luis Felipe Vieira has been keen not to lose Gaitan before the Super Cup as he looks for his side to inflict an early blow on Sporting Lisbon.

But there could be movement soon after as Manchester United and Valencia continue to be linked with the Argentine attacking midfielder.

Manchester United are finalising the sale of Angel di Maria to Paris Saint-Germain and have been mooted as seeing Gaitan as a replacement for his countryman at Old Trafford.

Valencia meanwhile continue to be linked with Gaitan and, like Manchester United, would have little trouble meeting the Benfica man's €35m release clause, which Vieira is keen to see met in order for the player to move.

And so Sunday could be the last time Gaitan pulls on a Benfica shirt, as the transfer scramble surrounding the Argentine threatens to quickly heat up.
