Fiorentina have slapped an ultimatum down for Liverpool forward Fabio Borini as they look to quickly ascertain whether the player is willing to join them this summer.

La Viola have been reported to have an agreement in principle with Liverpool to sign Borini, who is out of favour at Anfield.

However, the former Roma man is also attracting interest from several sides in England, while Lazio are also in for his signature.

And if the Rome-based outfit can reach the Champions League group stage, Borini may favour a return to the Italian capital, while Lazio would also have extra funds to do the deal.

Fiorentina are not prepared to wait until after Lazio have played their Champions League playoff round tie against Bayer Leverkusen.

And according to Italian daily La Nazione, they have given Borini a few days to consider their offer, after which time they will chase other options.

Borini was on the fringes of the Liverpool side last season and the Reds omitted him from their pre-season tour of Asia and Australia this summer.
