Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is wary of the threat posed by Victor Vazquez ahead of his team's Champions League playoff round tie against Club Brugge.

The Red Devils are scheduled to play the Belgian side in the two-legged encounter stretched over the course of the next nine days, with the first leg to be played at Old Trafford tomorrow.

However, ahead of the crucial encounter which will determine whether the Premier League giants will be in the Champions League group stage, Van Gaal is aware of the tough test which will be posed by Michel Preud'homme's side.

Vazquez was in fact a youth player at Barcelona when Van Gaal was in charge at the Spanish club.

And being well acquainted with the skills that the Belgian Player of the Year possesses, Van Gaal feels that his side will have to be well guarded against the player.
