Manchester United target Mats Hummels has hinted towards a future move to the MLS.

Hummels currently turns out for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga and was strongly linked with leaving the Ruhr giants this summer in search of a new challenge.

Louis van Gaal's Manchester United were keen on securing his services, but after a period of reflection the Germany international chose to remain with Dortmund.

He may though move on at some point and has hinted he could be open to playing in the MLS as he is thinking about living in New York.

Asked in a Twitter Q&A session which city, apart from Dortmund he would like to live in, Hummels replied: "I am really intrigued by New York."

He also admitted to being a big fan of the NBA, which he always likes to watch when he has a free morning.

Asked what is his favourite time of the day, Hummels replied: "If I have the morning off, then drinking coffee and watching NBA re-live is my favourite thing [sic]."

Hummels will be aiming to help Dortmund bounce back this season after a disappointing previous campaign saw the club flirt with relegation from the Bundesliga before Christmas, before eventually recovering.
