Rangers have been drawn to play holders Livingston in the quarter-final of the Scottish Challenge Cup.

Mark Warburton’s side will welcome the Lions to their Ibrox home on 10th October.

Former Hearts manager Jim Jefferies, who was present at the draw, feels that a new manager at the helm and the addition of several players to the first team ranks will make Rangers the favourites for the trophy.

“With new management and new players coming in they will be the strong favourites.”

In other fixtures Peterhead will host Stenhousemuir at the Balmoor Stadium, Dunfermline Athletic will play St Mirren at St Mirren Park and Hampden Park will host the clash between Queen’s Park and Elgin City.
