Alan Pardew is plotting a summer swoop to take his former Newcastle United player Davide Santon to Crystal Palace.

Following a loan spell at Inter, the Italian full-back rejoined the Nerazzurri on a permanent deal earlier this summer.

Clubs such as Sampdoria are interested in him and even Watford considered taking him back to England before eventually dropping their interest last month after Santon showed no interest in the move.

However, his future at Inter is still the subject of fierce speculation and it has been claimed Crystal Palace are keen to take him back to the Premier League this summer.

His former Newcastle boss Pardew remains a fan and according to Sky Italia, has asked the Palace hierarchy to arrange a deal to sign the 24-year-old in the final stretch of the transfer window.

The Palace boss feels Santon has the ability to succeed in England and is willing to take one more chance on him at Selhurst Park this summer.

While Santon is believed to be keen to stay at Inter, there is speculation that the Nerazzurri will listen to offers for him if they receive the right bid.

At 24, Santon is still believed to have his best years ahead of him and has a contract until 2018 with Inter.
