Bayern Munich are aiming to hijack Manchester City's push to sign Kevin De Bruyne from Wolfsburg.

Manchester City have been leading the chase for the former Chelsea midfielder, with a lucrative package prepared to tempt the Belgian to the Etihad Stadium.

But according to German daily Bild, Bayern Munich have now forcefully entered the race and are bidding to take De Bruyne to the Allianz Arena.

Wolfsburg remain keen to keep De Bruyne at the Volkswagen Arena, but may be forced into selling if the bids for their midfielder are large enough.

The Wolves signed De Bruyne from Chelsea in the January 2014 transfer window after he failed to find favour under Jose Mourinho.
