Napoli midfielder Jonathan de Guzman has decided to join Sunderland this summer.

The Black Cats reached an agreement with Napoli over signing the former Swansea City star last week, but De Guzman asked for time to consider whether he wanted to move to the Stadium of Light.

Now, according to Sky Italia, De Guzman has reflected on Sunderland's offer and has decided he would be happy to move to England with the Black Cats.

The deal, which is likely to be a season-long loan initially, is now expected to be pushed through to its logical conclusion if the final details can be ironed out.

De Guzman has been keen to return to the Premier League, where he enjoyed two seasons at Swansea; he joined Napoli last summer from Villarreal.
