Everton target Andriy Yarmolenko has emerged as a surprise target for Barcelona as they look to identify a replacement for Pedro Rodriguez.

The Spain forward left Barcelona to join Chelsea last week and while the Catalan giants are not allowed to register new players until next January, they are already working to find a replacement for Pedro.

Though Luis Enrique is keen to provide more opportunities to young players this season, the Barcelona hierarchy have draw up a list of targets they wish to pursue.

And according to Catalan daily Sport, Dynamo Kyiv forward Yarmolenko features prominently on the shortlist.

Everton are in talks with the Ukrainian outfit for the signature of the 25-year-old, but are yet to agree a deal, which has given Barcelona the opportunity to take a look at the forward.

The Catalan giants have already signed Aleix Vidal and Arda Turan this summer and it remains to be seen whether they try to bring in one more forward in the form of Yarmolenko.

The European champions’ interest could also force Everton to pick up the pace of their negotiations with Dynamo Kyiv and look to seal the deal as soon as possible.

Yarmolenko scored 19 goals in all competitions last season and has a contract until next summer with Dynamo Kyiv.
