Aston Villa winger Aleksandar Tonev is close to completing a move to Italian Serie A side Frosinone.

Tonev spent last season on loan at Scottish giants Celtic, but struggled to make an impact under Ronny Deila at Celtic Park.

His time in Scotland was marred by being found guilty of racially abusing Aberdeen defender Shay Logan and he was handed a seven-match ban.

The Bulgarian winger joined Aston Villa in 2013 from Polish outfit Lech Poznan, but failed to make his mark at Villa Park and was shipped out to Celtic on loan last summer.

Now the 25-year-old is set to be on the move again as, according to Italian broadcaster Sportitalia, Frosinone are close to securing his signature.
