Tottenham Hotspur are rapidly closing in on the signing of Bayer Leverkusen forward Son Heung-min for a fee of €30m.

The South Korea international only joined Bayer Leverkusen in 2013 after the BayArena outfit beat off interest from a number of clubs, including Liverpool and Tottenham, to land the forward; at the time Hamburg reported heavy scouting of the Korean.

He quickly settled with Bayer Leverkusen and his exploits have not gone unnoticed by Spurs, who have continued to monitor his progress in the Bundesliga.

According to the local German daily the Kolner Stadt Anzeiger, Spurs have agreed to pay €30m to sign Son, a sum which Bayer Leverkusen judge good enough to allow him to leave; until recently Son had a release clause set at €25m, but it has now expired.

Son is now expected to shortly undergo a medical with Spurs and discuss personal terms ahead of a move to White Hart Lane.
