Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger expects a last minute dash in the transfer market and is confident of brining in some new players to the Emirates Stadium by the time the window closes.

The Gunners have brought in Petr Cech from Chelsea, but have not made any other additions to their first team this summer. However, Wenger remains confident that he will land players by the time the transfer window closes next week.

“I'm always confident that a last minute solution is available because the transfer market especially moves in the last four, five days”, he said at a press conference.

“But at the moment I cannot promise you that.”

The Frenchman added that his team are working hard on securing players, but admitted that they are not close to signing any players at the moment.

“We work very hard and I have a team around me who work day and night to find good solutions, but at the moment we are not close to signing anybody.

“I'm available 24 hours a day, so I'm involved in every decision.

“Maybe yes [it’s harder that the window closes at 6pm] as you had until midnight. But the people adapt to the timing”, he concluded.

Arsenal have collected four points from their first three Premier League fixtures this season as they attempt to fight for their first title in over a decade.

The Gunners will be up against Newcastle United in their next league fixture this weekend at St James' Park.
