Barcelona are tracking the progress of AS Monaco striker Anthony Martial, who has also been linked with a move to Chelsea.

The 19-year-old French striker is one of the highly rated talents in his country and Monaco are reluctant to lose the player, who they bought from Lyon two summers ago.

However, it has been suggested that the Ligue 1 outfit’s failure to negotiate their playoff tie with Valencia and qualify for the Champions League group stage could force them to listen to offers for Martial.

And according to Spanish radio station Cadena SER, Barcelona are tracking the progress of the France Under-21 striker.

While the Catalan giants are barred from registering new players until January, the Blaugrana are contemplating making a move for the exciting young Monaco striker this summer to put an agreement in place.

However, Barcelona are one of the many suitors that Martial has and a number of top clubs are plotting to prise him away from the Stade Louis II in the final days of the transfer window.

Chelsea are also reportedly working on a deal and are ready to place a big money offer on Monaco’s table for the 19-year-old.

However, Monaco are keen to keep the youngster at the club as they look to get over their Champions League disappointment and put in a strong showing in Ligue 1 this season.
