Norwich City have seen a bid rejected by Napoli for French defender Kalidou Koulibaly.

The defender is attracting considerable interest from the Premier League this summer and there are a number of clubs who are in the queue to take him to England.

The 24-year-old is a target for Ronald Koeman and Southampton are reportedly in talks with Napoli for the transfer of the defender, but the Saints are not the only club from the English top flight who are after him.

According to Sky Italia, Norwich are also interested in the former Genk man and have recently slapped in a bid of around €12m for the player’s signature.

However, it has been suggested that that though the fee is significantly more than the €7m they paid to Genk last summer for Koulibaly, Napoli have rejected Norwich’s offer.

While Napoli are considering selling the player, they are looking to make a hefty profit from his departure and are holding out for more money.

The Canaries are expected to continue to negotiate with Napoli for Koulibaly and could make another offer before the transfer window slams shut next week.

Since arriving at the San Paolo last summer, the defender has made 39 appearances in all competitions for the club.
