AC Milan have announced the acquisition of Mario Balotelli from Liverpool on a season-long loan deal.

Prior to his move to the Merseyside giants last summer, the Italy international was plying his trade for AC Milan and has now returned to the club he supported as a child.

The 24-year-old endured a difficult season in the Premier League and struggled to lead the Liverpool attack. He scored four goals in all competitions, and the summer arrivals of Christian Benteke and Danny Ings at Anfield have seen the striker eventually move back to the San Siro.

A statement released by the AC Milan website confirmed the signing of the striker on a season-long loan spell.

“AC Milan announces that it has acquired Mario Balotelli from Liverpool FC on a temporary basis, until June 30, 2016.”
