Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu believes that his team-mate Heung-Min Son has been advised badly, as he stands on the brink of joining Tottenham Hotspur.

The South Korea forward did not play in Bayer Leverkusen's 3-0 win over Lazio last night, which booked a Champions League group stage spot, and is poised to head to White Hart Lane for €30m.

Son's father is claimed to be driving his son's lucrative move and Calhanoglu has taken a swipe at those around the forward for pushing him away from the BayArena.

"I am very sad, the whole team are pretty disappointed", Calhanoglu told German daily FAZ, speaking about Son's imminent departure.

"We were always there for him, but it's not his fault, he's a fine fellow", the midfielder continued.

"I think he is being ill-advised."

Son was not at Bayer Leverkusen's final training session before they took on Lazio, amid suggestions he has already travelled to London to undergo a medical with Spurs.

The forward moved to the BayArena from Hamburg in 2013, with Spurs one of the clubs, along with Liverpool, who had been interested in him at the time.

Two years later they have their man.
