West Ham are €2m short of Galatasaray's asking price for striker Burak Yilmaz, it has been claimed.

The Hammers are frantically looking to sign a striker before the transfer window closes and have been linked with a number of potential signings.

Boss Slaven Bilic, aware of Yilmaz from his time as Besiktas manager, has pushed West Ham in the Turkey striker's direction.

The club's first bid for Yilmaz was quickly rejected, but according to Turkish broadcaster NTVspor, the Hammers are now at €8m for the striker.

Galatasaray however want €10m put on the table before they will even begin to discuss Yilmaz's sale, which is still not a popular area of discussion at the Turk Telekom Arena.

Yilmaz scored a total of 22 goals in 37 games for Galatasaray last season and in the current campaign he has one goal in three appearances.

Whether West Ham will be willing to offer Galatasaray an acceptable sum remains to be seen, but the clock is ticking on the transfer window.
