Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has praised Pedro Rodriguez for taking such little time to settle down at Stamford Bridge.

The Spaniard switched to Chelsea from Barcelona last week and slotted into Mourinho’s starting eleven that took on West Brom at the Hawthorns last weekend.

He played a key role with a goal and an assist as the ten men of Chelsea recorded the first win of their campaign against Tony Pulis’ men away from home.

Pedro has been an instant success for Chelsea and that has pleased Mourinho as he feels most players who come to England from a different country do take some time to adjust to the ways of English football.

And he is pleased to see the former Barcelona man took such little time to make an impact for Chelsea, which he believes has been good for his team.

“Even when they are a top player like Pedro, there is a little question mark as they are coming from a different country”, the Chelsea boss said in a press conference.

“There is always a doubt about the time they will take time to adapt. But he came here and there was no problem as he was ready to perform.

“It is good for him, but it is better for the team.”

Chelsea need their first home win of their season tomorrow against Crystal Palace and Mourinho will want Pedro to repeat last weekend’s heroics on his Stamford Bridge debut.
