Juventus are optimistic of reaching an agreement with Schalke for the signature of Arsenal linked Julian Draxler.

The Bianconeri have been on the Germany international’s trail for months, but are yet to agree a deal with Schalke for the transfer.

While the talks were called off from Schalke’s side earlier this month, the two clubs have again come to the negotiating table and it has been suggested that the Bundesliga outfit are ready to sell the player.

According to Sky Italia, the clubs are locked in talks over a deal for Draxler and Schalke are currently demanding a fee of around €27.5m plus €5m in add-ons for the 21-year-old.

While the Bianconeri are only willing to offer around €24m plus €6.5m in bonuses, the negotiators from both the sides are actively seeking to bridge the gap in the next few days.

And despite the difference in numbers, Juventus are increasingly confident of seeing Draxler playing in their shirt this season.

The player himself is said to be keen to move to Turin this summer and is  waiting for both clubs to reach an agreement over a fee.

Draxler is a long term target for Arsenal as well but the Gunners have shown little inclination to pursue his signature during the current transfer window.
