Real Madrid defender Nacho has stressed the need for his team not to panic as they look to put the disappointment of last weekend's draw against Sporting Gijon behind them and hope to give Rafael Benitez a winning start in his first match at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Los Blancos failed to find the back of the net in their first match of the season against newly promoted Sporting Gijon, a result that sees them placed eleventh in the table behind rivals Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

According to Nacho, his side need to stay calm and treat every match as a final, a pattern that they have repeated in the past.

Even if they had won against Sporting Gijon, a win in their next match against Real Betis would have been equally important, the 25-year-old feels, and he is aiming for Los Blancos to do just that.

"We need to be calm. At Real Madrid every game is a final", Nacho told his club's official website.

"If we had won against Sporting, we would still need to beat Betis. From remaining calm we can go out to win every game."

Real Madrid are expected to be boosted by the return of striker Karim Benzema, who recovered from a thigh injury and returned to training on Tuesday.

Gareth Bale is also expected to play after suffering from a foot injury during the match last weekend.
