Lazio are determined to try to resist selling Manchester United linked pair Felipe Anderson and Lucas Biglia before the transfer window closes.

The Rome giants have been placed in a tricky position after they failed to qualify for the Champions League group stage.

A shortfall in income has now scuppered Lazio's remaining transfer plans, which are now being re-evaluated.

The club are most concerned about losing players though and it has already been claimed that Manchester United have slapped in a bid for attacking midfielder Anderson.

Lazio know that Anderson and fellow midfielder Biglia are generating interest, but according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, the club's president Claudio Lotitio is determined to do all he can to resist their departure.

Lotito believes that with just days left in the transfer window he would find it virtually impossible to replace the pair.

The forthcoming hours are now proving to be nervous ones for Lazio as they look to keep hold of their star midfield duo.
