Watford have failed in their own bid for out-of-favour Liverpool forward Fabio Borini, who has interest from Lazio, Inter and Tottenham Hotspur.

Borini is surplus to requirements at Anfield, but has yet to decide where to move to this summer. He is though expected to leave Anfield before the transfer window slams shut next week.

The former Roma man has attracted strong interest from his homeland, with Inter and Lazio keen, the latter appearing his most likely destination at present if he does return to Italy.

In England meanwhile, Borini has interest from Tottenham.

According to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, Watford also entered the race for Borini's signature, but have seen their efforts to snare the forward fail.

The Hornets are intent on making additions to their squad before the transfer window closes, but look to have missed out on Borini.

The forward joined Liverpool from Serie A side Roma in 2012, but struggled to make an impact at Anfield and has spent time away from the club on loan at Sunderland.
