Besiktas are in advanced negotiations to secure the signature of Victor Valdes from Manchester United.

There was speculation that the Turkish giants have already reached an agreement with Manchester United for Valdes, but it seems they are yet to close out the deal.

However, the negotiations are in the final stage and according to Italian broadcaster Sky Italia, Besiktas are hoping to conclude an agreement with Manchester United for the signature of the former Barcelona man soon.

Valdes is expected to travel to Turkey during the weekend and undergo a medical with the club tomorrow. Besiktas are hoping to unveil him as their new signing on Monday.

Turkish giants Fenerbahce and Galatasaray were also interested in the player, but it seems Besiktas are the ones who will eventually sign the World Cup winner this summer.

Louis van Gaal signed the player on a free transfer in January and Valdes even made two appearances for Manchester United towards the end of last season.

However, Van Gaal fell out with the 33-year-old custodian over his refusal to play in a match for Manchester United Under-21s and the former Barcelona man was asked to leave the club.

Manchester United have signed Sergio Romero as a replacement for Valdes and could be in the market for a new number one should David de Gea leave for Real Madrid before Monday.
