Jordan Botaka is on his way to England this evening to begin negotiations with Leeds United.

The winger, who currently turns out for Excelsior in the Netherlands, has seen Leeds thrash out a deal for his services with his club side, meaning the onus is on him to complete the switch.

According to Dutch outlet Soccer News, Botaka has now left for England to kick off talks over personal terms with the Whites, while he is also due to undergo a medical.

Leeds are racing to complete the signature of the DR Congo international before the transfer window closes, but are well positioned to do so, with English clubs having until 6pm on Tuesday to complete their business.

Excelsior are dismayed that news of Botaka's move to England leaked out prior to kick off in their Eredivisie game against De Graafschap this evening.

The Dutch side have been desperate not to have preparations for the match interrupted by news of the 22-year-old leaving the club.

Leeds had been in for another Eredivisie winger in the form of NEC Nijmegen's Anthony Limbombe, who was keen to move to Elland Road.

However, NEC turned down an offer of €2m from the Whites and Leeds have opted not to increase their bid, instead turning to Botaka.
